Can prostatitis cause sexual dysfunction?

Can Prostatitis cause sexual dysfunction, and how long does it take to affect someone sexually? I think i may have had prostatitis for years and didn't think of it. My ex girlfriend had yeast infection years ago, and i didn't know that it would infect me in that way. If i have had this for 3 years, would it have seriously affected me sexually? I have had some sexual problems off and on for a few years, but i thought that it was because of smoking (which i started 3 years ago, and just recently quiet a few weeks ago).

It depends on what you mean by prostatitis.

There is a condition called Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome that mimics prostatitis and other conditions. It is much more common in younger men than a true prostate problem. It can involve sexual dysfunction.

There is a book called "Headache in the Pelvis" by Anderson from Stanford. You should read it. There is also a website when they discuss the same condition - chronicprostatitis.com.

Prostatitis is one of the most common conditions that affect the prostate gland.

Prostatitis is the infection of the prostate. The prostate is the small gland that is doughnut shaped located at the bottom of the bladder. The prostate sits halfway between the rectum and the base of the penis.

The prostate circles the urethra. The urethra is the tube that carries urine from the bladder out through the penis. This gland produces most
of thefluid in semen.

how long does it take to affect someone sexually?
