Is it possible to have sinusitis without a fever? |
I have no idea what I had this past week exactly, but I am 15 weeks pregnant and was getting migraines almost every day. Then I started getting these unusual headaches that seemed to disappear when I would lie down, but with moving, it was a pounding sensation in just one side (its definitely different from any migraine I have ever had). Anyway, so a couple of days later, my throat is sore. Only at certain times during the day, though. I have no congestion, no runny nose or any symptom that alarmed me. I usually know when I am running a fever, and I felt great besides having the headaches and sore throat (hardly bothersome, I give it a 4 at the most). Yes. You can have infected sinuses without fever. The sinuses drain from the nasopharynx to the back of your throat, which can cause inflammation or even spread infection to the throat. Often the only symptom of the sinus infection is headache or toothache. So it does make sense. Yes, it can happen. It happens to me all the time and it is a pain in the bum. Once you have your baby, ask your dr to put you on some allergy meds that can dry up some of the drainage. If you aren't breastfeeding that is. Stayhist has helped me a lot. Good luck lack of fever is a good sign. if that changes go to the doctor. he's going to tell you to take tylenol more than likely. it's safe for pregnant women. Sounds possible. i don't know I absolutely think you can have a sinus infection without a fever...in fact both my husband and I had one in November, both with no fever. |
