Is the brown skin of coconut bad for health? can't i eat it?

when i will shread coconut, i will like to keep the brown skin also, and shread it too, i'm thinking it might have some more vitamins? i'm not sure.

i don't mean the very hard case that covers the coconut, i mean that very thin brown peel that is on the coconut, after you open it.

No problem. It seems to be an aesthetic choice. Coconut oil, flesh and milk are all excellent for your health. I knew a man in Newport RI who was 87 years old when I met him whose skin and hair were like a teens; and he ran 5 miles a day. His business was making pure coconut oil from organic coconuts for human consumption. He attributed his health and vitality to his use of the coconut oil.
So have at it and enjoy!

Good question. Most fruits' skin are edible. We need exploration in further detail. (And the argument "veg*ns are thinking people" is absolutely right!)

It's probably good roughage, just beware of slivers on the way out.

i guess that you could purree it with something.

i dont think it would taste very good itslike wood
