Meditation ?? for stress ,anxiety ,anger .?


How does it help , my doc just tries to give me anti depressants or ssri
(serotonin tabs) .Not wanting to take meds ,is there an alternative .My friend studies buddhism ,does this work ?? How would one get to learn to meditate ??

yes it works!!! i cured myself of severe anxiety, without medication.

try mantra meditation; it is easier for the mind to focus on a mantra. or you can just simply put your attention on your breathing.

you just focus all your attention on the sensations of breathing in and out. its as simple as that!!

also, go to a yoga class. the teacher there will most likely be able to help you with meditation, and yoga is great for those problems too!!

(a lot of guys go to yoga! its also a good place to meet fit girls, for even more stress relief, ha ha!)

it's nothing that u can learn by 4-5 sentences here.. or another place on the net, in some books...
BUT it works IF you believe in it...
so...
first of all...
u have to do them both... the yoga, meditation or anything else AND the drugs.... and step by step, when u feel better u will tell your doc and he will tapper your drugs...
BECAUSE it takes time to be an expert in these things, SO it takes time for things to work, and for that you don want to lose time, ... am i right?
if there r any good classes in your area, take those, if not, there r always good DVDs u can buy, in this pathway DO NOT change your religein! some people do! follow what ever you beleive,... there is always light in your heart that guides you...

basically for meditating, you sit on the floor in dim or no light....where it's very quiet and you're all alone....then just breathe...people usually just cross their legs the traditional way, i just lay on my back on the floor. it helps me calm down, and not think about to much.

Try deep breathing first,

and that will bring your heart rate down to a relaxed rate

Then progress to meditation,which is really a clearing of the mind

of all negative and worrying thoughts
