Post Dramatic Stress? |
Two years ago I found my grandfather in the bathroom almost dead and I gave him C.P.R as best as I could and as long as I could, and he died while I was doing it and I blamed myself for a very long time and now I seems to still be haunted by the images of seeing him die and I keep telling myself that it is myfault while I knew it wasnt could this be Post Dramatic Stress syndrome? People in such situations often blame themselves. You may well be suffering from PTSD: There is a quiz for the presence of P.T.S.D., via page E, of section 1 in ezy build, below. Some of the symptoms include "flashbacks", sleep disorders, especially nightmares, and just staring blankly. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is addressed at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris in sections 33 - 34; examine the http://1-800-therapist.com/ & http://www.metanoia.org/choose/ websites, and use the locators in those sections, and section 1, and phone book, and/or various associations for psychiatrists and psychologists, to find the nearest one using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy). I don't think it is PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), but it could be - I think it is just you feeling guilty (which I hope you realize you should not feel since it is not your fault). PTSD is usually more severe (flashbacks, inability to function following a psychological trigger, etc.). so sorry your grandfather passed away.i want to let you know that it was not your fault for his death, you did your best to keep him alive, yes,i know it is hard in dealing with this, cause of the guilt you might be feeling, but you need to keep reminding yourself you were not at fault for his death.it is possible to develop PTSD after witnessing a traumatic event such as seeing your grandfather pass away. As far as I know, it's absolutely possible, if you mean Post-Traumatic Stress disorder like I think you do. You need to see a therapist about this, as they can give you a more accurate diagnosis and help with your problem. Yes. But it's actually Post Traumatic not Dramatic. John, it is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Some others on here may tell you differently but loss of a loved one brings on the most stress. I would go talk to your GP. |
