Is it possible to have had a "mini-stroke" and not be aware of the incident?

I have severe sleep apnea and from what I understand this puts me at high risk, amongst other things, for stroke.
I have some symptoms that have manifested that seem to be some type of thought impairment. I in the past year have started to become dyslexic. I often now transpose letters in words and have moments where when reading everything looks "Wrong" with how a word is spelled?
Prior to this period I was both a capable typest/speller. Now I can't spell... I was very articulate and now I stumble not know ing what to say and loosing my train of thought mid conversaion.

I also have ahad a decline in fine motor skills with my left hand tending to spill and drop thinggs.

I am 43 and would not expect these abrupt changes. I have to check over and over what I key or it gets incomprehensible

Yes you can.

These almost sound like side effects from medication as apposed to mini-strokes. Strokes tend to effect the right side of the body for one thing.

I don't usually do this sort of thing, but if you're in a medically legal state, you may want to investigate medical marijuana. I used to volunteer at a collective and one of the patients there was a sleep apnea patient. He had awful side effects from his medication. He'd start forgetting things, and loose his train of thought mid sentence. Sometimes he'd walk into walls. He couldn't drive, couldn't work and was getting terrible anxiety and depression. It started using medical marijuana and was able to stop his traditional medication entirely.

He said that mmj saved his life. He said that the most amazing thing was that after about 7 months, he had started dreaming again. He became focused and articulate again and after about 9 months he started working again. He still uses his mask to sleep at nights be he doesn't have the same stress and discomfort from using it.

Mmj isn't for everyone, but if it can help you, it's something you may want to consider.

yes, though its common in older people you need to see a doc asap and you do have signs of stroke, my dad had a stroke at 42 so it can happen when you are younger. Your safest bet is to get checked. Also what the previous poster said regarding the sides of the body , this is not true strokes can effect both the left and right sides it all matters on where exactly you had the stroke. Also MMJ has just as many side effects not to mention it is extremely hard to obtain and you have to find a physician that holds a license to prescribe it.
