Very athletic teen, having health problems.?

Hello, I'm a very athletic teen girl with a few health issues that have been scaring me lately. Could you please diagnose them? Thanks!

I have...
1. Shortness of breath while playing sports
2. I do not have athsma
3. I get Charlie Horses severely in my calves lately from playing basketball, ones so bad I have to be carried off the court.
4. Severe side cramps when running
5. Lower abdominal pain once a month that is painful with hot flashes at the same time
6. I do not have regular periods, I think it's because I am really athletic

You are probably quite correct about the irregular periods assuming by very athletic, you exercise a LOT.

One of the other people is probably right about the dehydration - and yes - water, lots of water. you won't gain Weight by drinking water. Too much and you just pee more (I'm not talking about drinking gallons at a time. You can actually drown yourself that way. When you can't pee fast enough or sweat fast enough, the excess water will leech into your lungs).

The shortness of breath and lower abdominal pain sound serious. Even a very healthy teen could have cardiovascular problems that could have those symptoms.

I would ease back on the exercise until you see a doctor and I would see a doctor as soon as possible.

Sounds to me like the cramping is due to you being dehydrated. Drink more WATER, not gatorade or sports drinks or smart water, plain old pure filtered water. You may also have thoracic nerve subluxation and should seek chiropractic care for your breathing trouble. The irregular periods could be due to your athleticism and possibly if you have low body fat.

First, how much water are you drinking ( I know it sounds dumb...)
Second, What kinds of foods are you eating? Foods take more of a toll on our bodies than most people are willing to admit, or they don't care. My chiropractor is really good, and he diagnoses problems in me that are food related- like thyroid or kidney. Even Acne can be treated by clearing out worms we don't even know we have from foods like peperoni.
I know I ramble, but Check your diet. If you are a vegetarian it could cause some problems with your protein intake. Go to your doctor to check your cholesterol levels. My family is very fit, but the women have it bad. My 23 yr. old brother who is in the military and in great shape has over 200. That causes problems.

Blood can tell a lot of problems.
GOOD LUCK!!!

SEE A DOCTOR AND TELL HER EVERYTHIN FROM UR BEING ATHELETIC TO IRREGULAR PERIODS... I THINK U SHOULD TAKE MULTIVITAMINS REGULARLY.. TEY HELP A LOT AND SPECIALLY IRON

You need to see your doctor and your gynecologist.
