Anyone know the proper name for a Doctor that specializes in Thyroid disorders?

A doctor that specilizes in thyroid problems is an endocrinologist. Go see one if you have, or think you have, thyroid problems. I didn't. I saw my regular doctor for years for my thyroid condition. I wish I would've gone to see an endocrinologist. They're specialized. They know exactly what to look for, etc.

You will be sent to an endocrinologist. This is who you are going to have to see, because nobody else will treat thyroid disease.

But beware, endocrinologists know nothing about thyroid disease. They study diabetes. 99% of their patients are diabetic. (type II)

This is to be expected, since most thyroid disease is not an endocrine problem. Most thyroid disease is autoimmune. Endocrinologists don't understand, treat, or even acknowledge the autoimmune nature of thyroid disease.

So you really need to be your own doctor when you have thyroid disease. Study and research everything you can on your own. You have to know more than the doctor so that you can judge what the doctor is telling you and make sure he is treating you correctly.

The Thyroid is part of the Endocrine system, so an Endocrinologist.

Endocrinologist...its the doctor which deals with the endocrine system
