Can i have a thyroid gland disorder without knowing about it?

My mom is a doctor and she suspects i might have a thyroid gland disorder. But with school and other things going on, we still haven't had the chance to go to the hospital and get tested. So, im just wondering whether im just fat (altough i don't know why since i exercise a lot and don't really eat that much) or is it possible that the weight gain isn't my fault and could be an effect of the thyroid gland disorder? :(( Plz help...

If you are eating right and exercising a lot and still not seeing any weight loss it is completely possible that you do have a thyroid disorder called hypothyroidism! I am a dietitian and it is actually very common and easy to treat. so go get checked and it might make it a lot easier to get to the weight you want!

So get your butt to the hospital!!! You and your mom both know the truth but don't want to face it. Otherwise you would be there getting some help from another doctor.

Most people with thyroid problems just wonder why they are too heavy or too skinny, but don't do anything about it.

However there could be other reasons for your inability to maintain good weight. You do for sure need blood workup!!!

So quit procrastinating and go see a real DOCTOR as your mother obviously isn't worried about you.

Yes - it could be a thyroid disorder and you would not know it - except for symptoms. If your mom is a doctor - she could have someone do a blood test showing thyroid function and that should indicate if you have thyroid problems. This is not so time consuming to be sure.
