Is it possible that I can still have a thyroid disorder even if my blood work came back normal? |
I suspected a thyroid disorder after I started experiencing weight loss along with a BUNCH of other symptoms about a year ago. It also runs in the family. I read something that it is an autoimmune disorder. When I was 9 I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder, so maybe this also increases my chances. My aunt said that one time her blood work came back normal but she said I should take the other test where they inject some kind of liquid and take an ultrasound of your thyroid. Should I do this or should I be convinced with my normal blood results? Autoimmune is basic problem. It depends on which blood tests were done? Just a TSH? a T3? a T4? did they check for Graves? only thorough testing can rule out an autoimmune thyroid disorder. |
