I am a virgin so how did I get Trichomoniasis? |
I went to Ob/GYN last week because I was having some itching in my vaginal area. She did a Pap and told me that I had been infected with Trichomoniasis which is an STD. I asked her how that could be when I have never had sex? Trichomoniasis can also survive on infected objects like sheets, towels, and underwear and could be transmitted by sharing them. Contaminated fingers can spread the disease. Just to add to what the posters said -- you might not have had sexual intercourse but have you had other sexual activity? you can get it from that to Trichomoniasis is virtually always acquired through sexual contact in males, but in females, it can be contracted through contact with damp surfaces that were contaminated by someone else. According to the U.S. Department of health and Human Services, it can also be acquired from contract with wet towels and other damp items: AND WHAT DID SHE SAY ? |
