What to do with a urinary tract infection?

I have all the symptoms of a urinary tract infection: cloudy urine, painful burning when I pee, and tenderness of what I think is my bladder. I want to get rid of it but is there any way I can do it without a doctor's visit? I'm really short on money right now and I'm already in debt with a hospital bill, so I can't afford to go to the doctor without incurring more debts. Can my doctor just give me a prescription of antibiotics without seeing me? Is there some other way I can get rid of it if I can't get the antibiotics?

My Dr. will prescribe me antibiotics but I have frequent UTI's. So fun. You could get AZO strips from Walmart, use one and see if it tests positive for an UTI, then call your dr. and tell her the results. Explain to her you can't afford any more dr bills and expensive antibiotics. Walmart has $4 prescriptions, check on this to see what the list includes.

Drink a 64 oz. bottle of reduced sugar (light) cranberry juice plus 2 quarts of water a day for three days. Take some ibuprofen for the pain and an antacid (like Pepcid) for the burning. If you don't feel better in a couple of days or start to feel worse or run a fever, you need to see a doctor.
